I’m Geoff McGarvey and I own and run SoundEngine.

I started my career at ABC TV many years ago, originally on camera and I was lucky enough to catch a golden age of the ABC and worked on a myriad of great TV shows. Some became iconic for the ABC such as Playschool, Countdown, Mother & Son, GP to name just a few. I learnt so much technical and production knowledge which I still apply to this day.

In 1991 I left the ABC after 11 years to start Hullabaloo with my then business partner. In 2009 he left the company and I started SoundEngine and moved into the studio complex at McMahons Point with Take2 Creative Audio.

With over thirty years in business doing audio post and music, I’ve seen and heard a lot. It’s that experience I use with my clients. I’m still in the game, I still enjoy it and with the many years and many productions I have been a part of, a few things hold true; ‘dialogue is king’ as the old saying goes, we’re all working towards the same outcome, the best we can do, and be happy.
